Bangladesh is considering a 50:50 joint venture to build a one-million-tonne-per-year DAP fertiliser plant in Saudi Arabia, with Bangladesh potentially buying all output for 20 to 25 years. The proposal includes Saudi provision of gas and raw materials, and operations could begin around 2030 after feasibility work and agreements.
If completed, the project would secure a long-term source of DAP for Bangladesh and could reduce its exposure to spot-market supply disruptions. Its eventual additional production may ease regional DAP tightness, but the proposal is preliminary and would not affect near-term availability.
After 40 past bearish trade events, DAP moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (38% higher; middle half -3.7% to +0.5%), and -2.4% over 20.
