CBOT soybean futures fell to an 11-week low, with the most-active contract down 0.66% to $12.06 a bushel as Chinese buying slowed. USDA reported that the U.S. soybean harvest was 88% complete, ahead of the five-year average, and confirmed a 136,000-tonne sale to China for 2026/27 delivery; the agency has forecast a record-large crop.
Slower Chinese demand and a fast, large U.S. harvest add to available supply and weigh on soybean prices. A weaker Brazilian real and elevated U.S. freight costs also make U.S. exports less competitive.
After 803 past bearish trade events, Soybeans moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.7% to +1.7%), and +0.9% over 20.
