Indonesia’s agriculture minister directed follow-up on requests made during a meeting with farmers and livestock raisers in Blitar, including a proposal to develop 500 hectares of corn in Central Kalimantan and supply SPHP corn to livestock cooperatives in Blitar, Magetan, and Lamongan. The plan links corn growers, cooperatives, and livestock farmers, with free seed and support for production; cooperatives would absorb the harvest and BULOG could store surplus for future shortages.
If implemented, expanded corn cultivation and BULOG stockpiling would strengthen domestic feed-corn supply and improve availability during seasonal shortages, potentially limiting upward pressure on feed costs. The proposed scale is not yet realized, so the near-term price effect is limited.
After 310 past bearish policy events, Corn moved a median +0.3% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.9%), and +0.6% over 20.
