The USDA Daily Direct Prior Day Hog Report for November 5, 2026 showed producer-sold negotiated hog volume of 5,368 head, down from 7,583 the prior day. Other market formula purchases rose to 25,719 head, while swine or pork market formula volume was 126,240 head.
The report also showed negotiated prices lower, with the headline noting a $3.50 drop.
Lower negotiated hog prices reduce the value of finished hogs and signal softer packer demand for pork. For feed buyers, weaker hog margins can slow herd expansion and reduce demand for feed grains and meals over time.
After 159 past bearish report events, Lean Hogs moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -2.2% to +1.3%), and +1.0% over 20.
