Chicago wheat fell 2.4% after USDA's October estimates raised the US corn crop to 16.034 billion bushels, above the 15.8 billion expected in September, with yield at 181.2 bushels per acre. Euronext December wheat closed down about 0.9% at 242 euros per tonne, and a stronger euro against the dollar also weighed on European prices.
A larger US corn crop and higher ending stocks add supply to the feed grain complex, and wheat competes with corn for livestock feed, so the surplus pressures European and Chicago wheat prices.
