Growth Energy, the largest US biofuel trade association, urged the EPA to quickly finalize its proposed rule reallocating lost gallons from 2025 small refinery exemptions to 2026 and 2027 Renewable Fuel Standard obligations. The group argued refiners should not shift their blending obligations onto biofuel producers, citing recent refiner earnings.
Finalizing reallocation would raise required renewable volumes, supporting demand for soybean oil and other biofuel feedstocks and easing pressure on biodiesel margins. Delays would keep the exemption-driven uncertainty that has moved soybean oil prices.
After 842 past bullish policy events, Soybean Oil moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (52% higher; middle half -1.6% to +2.1%), and -0.5% over 20.
