A group of 37 representatives led by Ashley Hinson and Angie Craig wrote to EPA on April 11 asking it to raise proposed 2023 to 2025 RFS volumes for advanced biofuels and biomass-based diesel. The letter says EPA's proposed biomass-based diesel volumes reach only 2.95 billion gallons in the final year, less than 10% of the increase EIA projects for renewable diesel capacity.
If EPA keeps the proposed volumes, mandated soyoil demand grows far more slowly than capacity, which could ease soyoil prices. Higher final volumes would tighten the balance and support prices.
