Senators Patty Murray, Roy Blunt, Heidi Heitkamp and Chuck Grassley led 35 other senators urging EPA to raise biomass-based diesel and advanced biofuel volumes in the final RFS rule. The senators cited EPA's June 2018 proposal of 2.43 billion gallons for 2020 and 4.88 billion gallons for 2019.
They also said every 500 million gallon increase in biodiesel production supports about 16,000 jobs.
Higher biodiesel volumes in the final rule would add soybean oil demand and support crush margins. Heavy exemptions would offset that effect.
After 842 past bullish policy events, Soybean Oil moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (52% higher; middle half -1.6% to +2.1%), and -0.5% over 20.
