The rupee rose for a second straight session, gaining 29 paise to close at 94.46 per dollar on Wednesday. Lower crude prices, a weaker US dollar and foreign capital inflows supported the currency, and the dollar index fell 0.53% to 101.18 after the US midterm results.
A stronger rupee and lower crude lower India's cost of imported inputs, which can ease pressure on domestic feed ingredient prices. The move is modest and driven mainly by currency and energy markets rather than agricultural supply.
