Indian government bonds rallied on Wednesday as the 10-year G-Sec yield fell 12 basis points to 7.19%, its biggest one-day drop in about six months. The rupee gained for a fourth straight session to close at 94.64 per dollar, after Democrats won control of the US Congress and US Treasury yields and crude prices eased.
A weaker dollar and lower crude reduce India's import bill and support its currency, which matters for the cost of imported oilseed and feed inputs. Analysts warn the bond rally may be short-lived given domestic factors.
