The European Commission approved Koch's plan to acquire a 50% stake in Jorf Fertilizers Company I, an OCP Nutricrops subsidiary in Morocco with capacity of 1.2 million tonnes a year of phosphate fertilisers. The deal would give Koch and OCP joint control, but the share transfer has not been completed and the price has not been disclosed.
The approval clears one regulatory hurdle for a joint venture that produces DAP and MAP, which could add US-linked supply once the deal closes. Its effect on prices is limited, since the plant's output is already in the market.
After 36 past neutral trade events, DAP moved a median +0.7% over 5 sessions (64% higher; middle half -0.0% to +2.1%), and +0.4% over 20.
