A Reuters poll estimates Malaysian palm oil output rose 10.4 percent month on month in March to 1.39 million tonnes, the first monthly increase in about five months. The rise is smaller than the usual March gain of about 15 percent, owing to El Nino effects and labour shortages.
Output rising faster than expected would add palm supply and could pressure benchmark palm oil futures, which have already fallen about 15 percent this year.
