The Ukrainian Agrarian Council is pressing the government to scrap anti-dumping duties on nitrogen fertilizers. It says a monopoly by OstChem holding companies has pushed domestic nitrogen prices well above world prices and Ukrainian export prices.
The council is also seeking a joint memorandum to regulate the market.
If the duties are lifted or competition increases, domestic Ukrainian nitrogen prices could ease toward world levels, though the effect on global urea prices would be limited.
After 26 past neutral policy events, Urea moved a median -1.0% over 5 sessions (27% higher; middle half -4.1% to +0.6%), and -2.5% over 20.
