The EBRD is providing a US$50 million loan to Nibulon Group, one of Ukraine's largest grain exporters. The financing will fund three new river grain terminals, fleet expansion, and a 42,000-tonne storage facility and railway at its Mykolaiv terminal.
Added inland waterway and port capacity could lift Ukrainian grain export volumes by up to 8 million tonnes a year, adding supply to Black Sea markets. The effect on prices is gradual and modest, since the capacity comes online over three years.
