COCERAL cut its third 2018 forecast for the EU grain and oilseeds crop to 283.5 million tonnes, down from 299.1 million in June and below last year's 300.2 million. Wheat was cut to 129.9 million tonnes, barley to 57.4 million, corn to 58.9 million, and rapeseed to 19.4 million, with losses concentrated in Germany, France, the UK and Scandinavia.
A smaller EU harvest reduces exportable supply of wheat, barley and corn and tightens rapeseed availability for meal and oil, supporting European and world feed grain and oilseed prices.
After 769 past bullish report events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (53% higher; middle half -1.4% to +2.0%), and +0.2% over 20.
