The European Commission has moved to require registration of urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) imports from the US, Russia and Trinidad and Tobago at EU borders while its anti-dumping probe continues. The registration would let regulators backdate any duties imposed later.
Backdated duties could raise landed costs for EU-bound UAN and reduce import competition, supporting EU nitrogen prices. Exporters from the named countries may need to redirect supply.
After 176 past bullish trade events, Urea moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +2.4%), and +1.6% over 20.
