The U.S. Grains Council began rolling out its 2018/2019 Corn Export Cargo Quality Report at a series of seminars in Mexico. The report is based on 436 export cargo samples collected during federal inspection at export terminals.
Further seminars are planned in other markets in the coming months.
The report sets buyer expectations for the quality of U.S. corn this marketing year, which can shape purchase contracts and processing choices. It is unlikely to move prices on its own.
After 3,207 past report events, Corn moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.7%), and +0.5% over 20.
Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
