SENASA, Costa Rica's animal health authority, is running a simulation exercise from 19 to 22 August 2019 in Ochomogo de Cartago. It covers avian influenza, African swine fever and classical swine fever.
The drill tests emergency response, surveillance and biosecurity procedures.
This is a preparedness exercise, not an outbreak, so it has no direct effect on feed supply or prices. It does show Costa Rica tightening its response to major animal diseases.

Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
