The UK government published notice of definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of urea and ammonium nitrate solutions from Russia, the USA and Trinidad and Tobago. The duties are charged on top of normal customs duty and apply across the EU.
The notice mainly sets out the general purpose of the measure.
Higher duties on these fertilizer imports reduce supply into the EU from the named exporters, which can support EU nitrogen prices and redirect trade flows. The effect on global urea prices is likely modest.
After 176 past bullish trade events, Urea moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +2.4%), and +1.6% over 20.
