The European Union opened an anti-dumping investigation into urea imports from Russia after EU fertilizer producers complained the shipments undercut market prices. Fertilizers Europe alleged Russian exporters benefit from artificially low, state-fixed natural gas prices, a key feedstock for urea production.
If the probe leads to duties, Russian urea would face higher EU costs, tightening European supply and supporting urea prices. Until then, the uncertainty could keep some EU buyers cautious.
After 176 past bullish trade events, Urea moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -1.3% to +2.4%), and +1.6% over 20.
