Bayer Crop Science told investors and agricultural media on February 13 that it has a new herbicide site-of-action molecule in development for crops including corn and soybeans, effective against several herbicide-resistant grasses. The company is also using gene editing alongside conventional breeding and transgenic methods to develop short-stature corn, and plans to launch its three-way herbicide stack XtendFlex this spring.
These are long-term product pipeline updates with no immediate supply change, so they have little direct effect on feed grain or oilseed prices. Herbicide-resistant weed control could eventually support yields, but the herbicide timeline runs to the late 2020s.
After 3,207 past report events, Corn moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.7%), and +0.5% over 20.
