EFSA's overview covers 16 May to 15 August 2020, recording seven HPAI H5N8 poultry outbreaks in Europe, six of them in Hungary and one in Bulgaria. It also notes one low-pathogenic H5N3 outbreak in Italy and describes the Hungarian cases as the tail end of the winter and spring epidemic in central Europe.
Summer outbreaks in Europe were limited, which suggests little near-term pressure on poultry output or feed demand. The report has no direct effect on feed grain or meal prices.
