USDA's Grain Transportation Report for the week ending December 10 showed total corn, wheat and soybean inspections for export at 3.6 million tonnes, down 10% week on week but up 37% year on year. Rail deliveries of grain to U.S. ports rose 122% from a year earlier over the last four weeks.
Strong export inspections and rail movement indicate robust U.S. grain flow, supporting nearby basis and export demand, while rail capacity is no longer a constraint.
