The Profercy World Nitrogen Index fell for a third straight week as urea softened in most major regions. India booked about 800,000t for April shipment against 1.332m t offered, leaving near 1m t of Chinese availability.
Chinese prilled offers dropped to the high $320s/t fob, and Egyptian offers fell to at least $370/t fob.
Excess Chinese supply and India's smaller-than-offered purchase are pressuring global nitrogen prices lower, which lowers the input cost outlook for fertilizer-linked feed and grain production. Buyers are holding out for lower prices, so further softness is likely until the next tender.
After 81 past bearish trade events, Urea moved a median -1.0% over 5 sessions (28% higher; middle half -7.2% to +0.4%), and -5.5% over 20.
