AgriFutures Australia and GRDC are investing $5.4 million over five years in the National Oat Breeding Program, led by commercial breeder InterGrain. The total program is worth $11.5 million and will develop milling and hay oat varieties.
Long-term breeding investment may improve oat varieties and supply, but it has little near-term effect on feed grain prices.
After 16 past neutral policy events, Oats moved a median -1.1% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -3.1% to +4.3%), and -5.7% over 20.
Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
