Washington state reports December 1, 2021 grain stocks in the Northwest. Wheat stored in Idaho, Oregon and Washington was down about 43% from a year earlier, and national wheat stocks fell to 1.39 billion bushels from 1.70 billion.
Barley stocks also fell sharply in several states.
Much lower regional wheat and barley stocks tighten nearby supplies and support prices for feed grains. The figures reflect a smaller crop and strong early movement out of storage.
After 769 past bullish report events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (53% higher; middle half -1.4% to +2.0%), and +0.2% over 20.
