United States Government-Funded 36,000 MT of TSP Fertilizer Arrives in Sri Lanka: Paddy Farmers to Receive TSP in Time for Yala Cultivation - U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka

A 36,000 metric ton USAID-funded TSP shipment arrived in Sri Lanka and was handed to the Ministry of Agriculture on 19 March 2023. The fertiliser will go free to paddy farmers across all 25 districts.

The US says total USAID-supported TSP and urea aid now exceeds 45,000 MT over the past year.

WHY IT MATTERS

This is aid-driven fertilizer delivery to a single small importer and does not move global phosphate or urea prices. It is a minor event for feed-grain buyers.
