India's central government approved exports of 30,000 tonnes of non-Basmati white rice to Tanzania, 30,000 tonnes of broken rice to Djibouti, and 50,000 tonnes to Guinea-Bissau. The shipments are handled by National Cooperative Exports Limited under a notification from the DGFT, after non-Basmati white rice exports were banned in July 2023.
These permitted volumes are small relative to global rice trade and reflect India's continued restriction on exports, so the price impact is limited but keeps world supply tight.
After 100 past neutral policy events, Rough Rice moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -2.6% to +2.3%), and +0.7% over 20.
