GAPKI reported that Indonesian crude palm oil output rose 5.5% in March 2024 to 4.10 million tonnes, with total palm oil exports up 18% to 2.56 million tonnes. Domestic consumption also increased, with food use up 7.5% and biodiesel use down 4%.
Higher Indonesian exports and domestic food demand tighten available supply for importers, supporting palm prices, while biodiesel use is softer.
After 66 past neutral report events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (58% higher; middle half -0.4% to +2.0%), and +2.2% over 20.
