An oat analyst told the SaskOats AGM that 2024-25 North American oat ending stocks will be below the five-year average. He said Canadian seeded area needs to rise about 25 per cent this spring to rebuild supplies, after 2024 acres rose 15 per cent and production 27 per cent.
Tight oat ending stocks support prices for feed buyers, and a shortfall in spring plantings would keep supplies thin into 2026.
After 52 past bullish report events, OATS moved a median -2.0% over 5 sessions (33% higher; middle half -3.4% to +2.4%), and +0.7% over 20.
