France's agriculture ministry lowered its 2025 soft wheat area estimate to 4.60 million ha, still 9.1% above last year. Maize area is estimated at 1.48 million ha, down 7.6%, and sunflower area fell 10.7%.
Rapeseed area was raised slightly to 1.3 million ha.
A larger French wheat area and a smaller maize area point to a production rebound in wheat and tighter French corn supply. The shift tilts feed grain balances toward wheat substitution and modestly supports corn.
