DAP prices in India rose from about $633 per tonne CFR in January to roughly $780 in June 2025, as China's export restrictions squeezed supply. Indian importers are turning to West Asian suppliers such as Saudi Arabia to fill the gap, and China's share of India's DAP imports has fallen sharply.
Tight Chinese DAP supply is lifting global phosphate prices and raising feed-adjacent input costs, with higher DAP also straining India's subsidy budget. Phosphate costs feed through to crop economics and therefore to grain and oilseed pricing over time.
After 193 past bullish trade events, DAP moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -0.3% to +1.8%), and +1.9% over 20.
