USDA's Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report, released July 1, showed May 2025 DDGS output of 1.78 million tons, up 9% from April but down 11% from May 2024. Corn used for fuel alcohol was 449 million bushels, up 6% month over month but 1% below a year earlier.
Lower year-over-year DDGS production tightens domestic co-product supply, which supports DDGS prices for feed buyers. Corn grind for ethanol is roughly steady, so the effect on corn is limited.
