The EU reduced anti-dumping tariffs on lysine imports from China on July 11 for a five-year period, after initially imposing duties of 58.3% and 84.8%. Feed industry group FEFAC had argued the provisional tariffs would raise animal feed costs substantially.
Lower tariffs make Chinese lysine cheaper to import into the EU, increasing supply competition for European producer Eurolysine and reducing feed formulation costs. The change is bearish for EU lysine prices and supportive for feed affordability.
