Bangladesh's only DAP plant has been idle for nearly four months because it lacks phosphoric acid. A government approval needed to import 60,000 tonnes of acid is still pending, with lowest bids around $1,072 to $1,087 per tonne.
Officials said Bangladesh paid about $750 per tonne at the start of 2026.
The idle plant cuts domestic DAP output and keeps import demand for phosphoric acid elevated, supporting phosphate prices. Acid costs running well above early-2026 levels add to the upward pressure.
After 151 past bullish policy events, DAP moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -0.6% to +0.9%), and +1.9% over 20.
