Peru raised its second-season anchovy quota for the North-Central zone to 1,630,000 metric tonnes, far above the provisional figure from November 1. IFFO says the quota is science-based and that global fishmeal production through September 2025 rose about 8% year on year.
Fishmeal use in Chinese aquaculture in 2025 has also exceeded last year's.
More Peruvian anchovy landings increase fishmeal availability, which pressures fishmeal prices lower and makes marine protein cheaper for feed formulators.
After 206 past neutral policy events, Soybean Meal moved a median -0.4% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -2.3% to +1.8%), and -0.7% over 20.
