Saudi producer Maaden reportedly sold 35,000-40,000 tonnes of DAP to a single buyer in Tanzania at about $715/t cfr, for shipment in early March. The price is up from a December sale to east Africa at $700-707/t cfr.
There has been no buyer-side confirmation.
A single unconfirmed sale at a higher price adds to evidence that phosphate offers are firming. Its effect on the broader market is limited given the volume.
After 193 past bullish trade events, DAP moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -0.3% to +1.8%), and +1.9% over 20.
