USDA's August report raised global oilseed production for 2026/27 by 1.05 million tonnes to a record 721 million tonnes. Soybean output was lifted to a record 442.25 million tonnes, and rapeseed was raised to about 99 million tonnes.
Chicago soybeans and Paris rapeseed still rose after the report, supported by higher crude oil and Black Sea export restrictions.
A record oilseed crop would normally cap prices, but firmer crude and export disruptions are keeping soybean and rapeseed prices higher, which affects meal costs for feed buyers.
After 747 past bullish report events, Soybeans moved a median +0.3% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.4% to +2.1%), and +0.8% over 20.
