South Korea confirmed an African swine fever case at a farm in Gangneung, where 29 of 32 dead pigs tested positive. About 20,000 pigs were culled and a 48-hour standstill order was imposed on farms in six neighboring cities and counties.
It is the first outbreak since November.
The cull and movement restrictions cut local pig supply in the short term. The effect on global feed and meat markets is small.
