Indonesia added new brackets to its crude palm oil export levy covering prices between $1,000 and $1,500 a tonne. The maximum levy is set at $375 a tonne above $1,500, and the levy rises $20 a tonne for every $50 price increase.
A price-linked levy that rises with palm oil prices reduces the exportable surplus as prices climb, which supports global palm oil prices.
After 548 past bullish policy events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (61% higher; middle half -0.7% to +2.1%), and +0.9% over 20.
