Azov-Black Sea wheat freight rates rose to $55 per tonne for 3,000-tonne shipments to Sea of Marmara ports in week 40 due to Kerch Strait weather delays and low water in the Azov-Don Canal. Russia cut its wheat export duty to 617.7 rubles per tonne from October 1, barley duties stayed at zero, and corn duties fell slightly to 716.9 rubles per tonne.
Higher freight and logistics costs raise delivered Russian grain costs, while lower wheat export duties partly offset that and support Russian export competitiveness.
