Chicago soybean futures climbed on Wednesday after fresh export sales, including 264,000 tonnes of US soybeans to China, were reported. Dry weather in top exporter Brazil and patchy rains threatening its planting also supported prices.
Corn rose on 420,000 tonnes of new sales to China, the first large corn sale since Sept. 22.
Chinese purchases draw US export demand and tighten old-crop supplies, supporting prices. Brazilian planting delays extend the period of reliance on US beans.
