Grain and soybean futures edged higher on Wednesday as traders weighed how weekend snow and heavy rain would affect the US crop. Snow hit new wheat in Kansas and flooded recently planted Corn Belt fields, and barge traffic on the Mississippi was disrupted.
Analysts remained divided because USDA showed corn planting on track with averages.
Traders are pricing a weather premium against large global stocks, so any confirmed yield damage could lift prices. Barge disruption and replanting risk add to near-term supply concerns for feed grains.
