Texas A&M AgriLife economists said the Texas cattle market was recovering from Winter Storm Uri, which disrupted cattle movement and meat deliveries in February 2021. They expected prices to rebound as logistics normalize and herd health improves.
The economists also cited conditions favoring price gains in 2021.
Storm-related logistics disruptions are short-lived, and the expected recovery supports firmer cattle prices. Feed buyers should expect cattle supply to normalize as movement resumes.
