European buyers bought U.S. soybeans as trade tensions between Washington and Beijing escalated, in one of the first signs that tariff threats are disrupting global commodity flows. Buying by non-Chinese importers supports U.S. soybean demand and basis, partly offsetting the risk of lost Chinese demand, so the net price effect is mixed.
