Vegetable oil prices fell after crude oil dropped 5% on pandemic-driven demand worries. Palm oil futures in Malaysia fell 1.6% on lower expected Chinese demand, and US soybean oil dropped 1.8%.
China is also expected to reduce purchases of US soybeans and Malaysian palm oil during its October holiday.
Lower crude and reduced Chinese buying in the holiday window weigh on palm and soybean oil prices, while softer biodiesel economics limit support from energy markets.
