Reuters reports that Brazil has asked the EU to hold off on implementing its deforestation law. The regulation covers soy, beef, palm oil, coffee, cocoa, rubber, wood and derivatives, and was adopted in June 2023 with 18 months for companies to adapt.
Brazil's request signals possible delay of EU demand rules for its soy and beef exports, which could support Brazilian export flexibility but adds uncertainty to EU-bound volumes.
