GBP/USD fell below 1.3780 on Thursday after the Federal Reserve held rates at 3.50%-3.75% in a 10-2 vote, with Waller and Miran dissenting in favor of a cut. The Fed described the labor market as stabilizing, and the dollar index rose 0.65% to 96.40.
Gold, silver and crypto also sold off.
A firmer dollar after the Fed hold makes dollar-priced commodities more expensive for foreign buyers. Lower gold and risk assets point to broader pressure across commodity markets.
