The US dollar rallied to a 13-month high as the Japanese yen fell to its weakest level against the dollar since 1986, passing the prior high of 161.95. Traders have fully priced in at least one Fed rate hike by year-end after the Fed held rates at 3.5%-3.75% under new Chair Kevin Warsh.
A stronger dollar tends to pressure dollar-denominated commodity prices and makes US feed exports less competitive abroad, while weaker Asian currencies can raise import costs for feed buyers in those markets.
