The EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes carried around 80% of Ukrainian imports and about 20% of Ukrainian grain, oilseed and related exports in December 2024. Since May 2022 they have moved roughly 170 Mt of Ukrainian goods, including an estimated 81 Mt of grain, oilseeds and related products.
Rerouting grain exports away from the Black Sea ports shifts flows and freight costs, which can alter regional export competition and spreads. The effect on global grain prices is modest because the total volume is already in the market.
